The Adamawa State Health Supplies Management Agency (ADSHSuMA) was established under the Adamawa State Health Supplies Management Agency Law, 2024, which repeals the State Essential Drugs Programme Edict of 1996. The law was signed on November 7, 2024, by His Excellency Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the Executive Governor of Adamawa State.
The Adamawa State Health Supply Management Agency (ADSHSuMA) is mandated to:
1. Coordinate the procurement, storage, and distribution of essential medicines, vaccines, and health commodities across all public health facilities in the state.
2. Ensure quality assurance and regulatory compliance in the handling of all health commodities.
3. Promote transparency and accountability in the management of health supplies through data-driven systems and reporting.
4. Strengthen the state’s health supply chain through innovation, technology, and effective logistics management.
5. Build capacity of personnel involved in supply chain management for improved service delivery.
6. Collaborate with government agencies, partners, and stakeholders to achieve health commodity security for all.
7. Support policy development and implementation aimed at improving access to health commodities in Adamawa State.
